The Ugly Princess
It was a dark and stormy night. The phone rang and woke me up. I was expecting the neighbors to call with the big news. I picked up the phone. "The princess is born," said a weak, happy, voice. It was my job as the village reporter to cover the story. That's how it all began.
16 Years Later...
"Wake up" whispered the maid. As Tulula laid eyes on the maid, the maid fainted. Tulula was ssssssoooooooo ugly her parents always said they adopted her, but Tulula knew they were lying.
Tulula went down stairs, drank a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, and went outside. It was cold and breezy outside. She got the news paper and read:
Mike Milkyway discovered there is a witch in Booklyn Woods who can turn ugly people into pretty people for the cost of a single raison.
Tulula knew Booklyn Woods was not far from her castle. She ran into the woods to find the witch. Just as Tulula thought she would never find the witch, a stray cat transformed into a plump witch.
"Er, Hello," said Tulula. To Tulula's surprise, the witch did not faint.
"Hello, dear" said the witch. "My name is Sara Swoonberry," said the witch. "I don't mean to be rude, but what is your name?"
"Oh, sorry, er, my name is Tulula."
"Well, Tulula, come inside" said the witch.
The next moment, Tulula found herself inside the house. The house smelled like burning rats and spiders. "What is that?" Tulula asked, pointing to the big black soup burping brown bubbles.
"It's the pretty potion," said Sara.
"Do I have to drink that?"
"NO" answered the witch.
"Oh, er, good," said Tulula, not trying to be rude.
"You have to smell the "pretty potion" right under your nose." said Sara, adding dragon ash to the potion.
It seemed at least 5 minutes until the witch was done with it. Tulula took the soup, (which started burping green gases). She smelled the soup and there was a clattering noise like breaking china glass. Tulula felt like she was sprouting 20 boils at once. Then she felt perfectly normal. She looked in the mirror and almost fainted...
SHE WAS PRETTY!
She paid the raisin to the witch, and went home, running. Once she got home she yelled to her parents. "Mother! Father!" she yelled.
"Who are you?" as her mom and dad as they an down the stairs.
"I'm your daughter." said Tulula, as she showed the paper to her mom and dad.
Her mom almost fainted. "Now we don't have to lie about you"!!!!
20 Years later...
Twenty yeas later, Tulula was still pretty. But old witch forgot to tell Tulula an important secret about the "pretty potion." Now married a nice man and had a family with 2 daughters and a son.
"Okay kids, time to go to school." said Tulula. The girls were in 4th grade and the boy was in 2nd grade. As the kids went out to the school bus, the husband kissed Tulula on her pretty face and went to work.
When Tulula just finished lunch, there was a loud BANG in the livingroom. The Queen of Floransa, (where Tulula and her family lived), came in through the door.
"I am here to kill you Tulula," said the Queen. "I think you might take my spot because you're pretty."
Before Tulula could answer she felt just like she felt twenty years ago. The same way she felt like when she was sprouting twenty boils at once then...........she looked in a close by mirror and the queen screamed. Tulula was ugly again!
"You will never take my place as queen!" and she stormed out of the room. Tulula was very happy that she wasn't killed , but yet very scared. Would her husband and children believe it's her?
It was 2:45 as the door opened and in came her kids and husband.
"How was your-" the husband said looking up. "How did you get like that?" he asked slowly. Tulula handed him the newspaper story from twenty years ago and she told them the story.
She told them the last detail and then asked, "Are you going to divorce me because of how I look?"
Her husband's voice comforted her. "Of course not!" Why would I do that?" looking at her in a puzzled way.
"Because I'm ugly!" cried Tulula.
"You are not ugly on the inside. You are a smart talented wife" he said.
From then on she was happy. Her husband explained to the town what happened and the town made Tulula Queen. "The old queen was wrong" thought Tulula. "I am pretty inside!"

Moral of Story:
Do not judge someone by the way they look, Judge them by the inside
